Health is one of the main facts which decide the quality of life. The number of healthy people in the country is considered as one parameter which shows the development of the country. Health is divided into physical health and mental health and previously mental health was not considered as important as physical health. But, in the world mental health is considered as one prominent side of health that takes into account seriously.

Even religious leaders have given an important place for health in their preaches because, without good health, devotees cannot understand the core of their teaching. Jesus says  “Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, 20 for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 which means you must take care of your body as it is a holy gift from God.

Mental Health Explained

In simple words, Mental health is explained as physiological and emotional well-being. It includes the emotional and behavioral responses and adjustments to the various situations in life and the ways they endure each situation.

The World Health Organization has presented   “subjective well-being, perceived self-efficacy, autonomy, competence, inter-generational dependence, and self-actualization of one’s intellectual and emotional potential, among others.” as the mental health components. Also, the WHO has mentioned that subjective assessments, Cultural differences, and competing for professional theories are the basic facts that help to define a person’s health.

Significance

According to WHO researches, mental illnesses have spread among people than other crucial illnesses such as cancer, diabetes. The key reasons for the widespread mental illnesses are ignorance of mental health and the hesitance to get medical advice regarding the situation upon social insults. Mental illnesses widely affect a person’s daily life, professional life, relationship, and academic activities badly.

That is why Mental health needs to be taken seriously. Most of the times poor mental health impel victims to addict substances and bad behavioral which causes deprecation of life. Also, bad mental health automatically weakens your physical health as the mind controls your emotions and the brain controls the cognitive functions. The unbreakable interconnection between your mind and the body is the reason for this mechanism.

How To Keep Your Mental Health Well

The first thing is, do not regret about the past that you cannot change. Do not live in the past or future, just live in the present and be conscious about the moment you are spending now. If you feel emotionally bad regarding something,  talk to someone reliable immediately and avoid the thing which caused make you mentally unstable.

Also, accept you as you and do not try to compare yourself to anyone else as you are unique and there is no one as you in this world. Try to understand your potential and sharpen it to add extra value to your valuable life. You may be someone to the world, but someone’s world maybe you. So, take care of both mental and physical health to stay healthy forever.

Besides all of the facts, food plays a special role in both your physical and mental health. Therefore, make your diet healthy and add foods such as fish, green leaves such as Asiatic pennywort (Centella), cereal and nuts to enhance the mental health.
